The Rogue River begins in the Cascade Range of Southern Oregon and empties into the Pacific Ocean some 200 miles later in the heart of the spectacular Oregon coast. Its beauty earned it a spot as one of the eight charter members of the National Wild and Scenic River System. We offer 1/2 day trips (morning and afternoon) on the "Nugget" section of the Rogue River.
The Rogue is a great trip for those wanting a fun float, plus a few bigger rapids. You may see blue herons, golden eagles and possibly a fisherman or two along the way. A very pleasant 1/2 day rafting trip that ends with 2 exciting class III+ rapids known as "Nugget Falls" and "Powerhouse". The Rogue is a wonderful taste of whitewater excitement. It is great for the intrepid first timer, families and those crunched for time.

Our half-day trip on the Rogue is one of Momentum’s three original trips. And, while they have added many other rivers and adventures to their offerings, Ashland, Oregon is still considered "home" and the Nugget section of the Rogue River is an integral part of their trip offerings. It is a great introduction to whitewater rafting!
The same guides who guide trips throughout Oregon, Northern California, Idaho and abroad guide this fun half-day excursion. Every guide has a minimum of 5 years of experience on many of the world’s most difficult whitewater rivers. They truly enjoy sharing the outdoors and their outdoor experiences with others.
Rogue Half-Day Trips Include:
• All rafting equipment
• Wet suits and splash jackets (if needed)
• Hotel pick-up and drop-off from the Ashland/Medford Oregon area
• A snack featuring local and organic produce & products
• World-class guides with a minimum 5 years experience leading trips around the globe

The Rogue River Nugget Falls half-day rafting trip is a perfect quick river adventure for any group or family in the Southern Oregon area.
Popular with those just driving through or seeing plays in Ashland as the trip is only minutes from the freeway and fits into a quick whitewater filled half-day. Raft surfing sessions and two large class IV cascades make this a highly memorable river adventure.

After meeting your guides the group will load into the vans and head for the put-in at Fishers Ferry boat ramp on the Rogue River. At the put-in the guides will get the rafts ready while the head guide fits everyone for helmets, pfd’s, and optional wet-suits or splash tops. Before putting on the river the guide will give a thorough paddling orientation as well as offer use of our day dry-bag to anyone needing to store some items on the raft during the trip.
When everyone has their sunscreen and is geared up the group will load into the paddle rafts and head downstream. A great feature to this run is how it builds in difficulty so the group starts off with several class I and II rapids to practice their paddling skills before getting to the first class III rapids. As the group floats through this initial section you can expect to see great wildlife including bald eagles, osprey, and deer.
In about an hour the rafts arrive at lineman’s and the raft surfing begins. After splashing through the rapid we will pull into the eddy next to this famous Rogue River kayaking spot. If there are any kayakers we will hop in line and watch them try to surf and do some tricks while we wait for our chance to get onto the wave and hang ten. Surfing a raft is like it sounds, we will aim upstream and paddle the raft out into the current and try to catch the surfing wave. If we do it right the people in the front will get very wet and will be able to sit on the wave in the middle of the rapid without paddling. It is a very unique and fun feeling.
When the group is thoroughly wet and ready to hit some big waves we will float down stream to our first class IV rapids, Nugget Falls. At Nugget Falls the river squeezes the river into a narrow chute where the raft is forced to navigate the “monkeys fist” and two LARGE holes. Hold on tight this is always an adventure. Assuming the group is all still in the boat and the boat is bottom down we pull over and enjoy a quick snack riverside. This is a great spot for family pictures in front of your first class IV waterfall.
After snacks it’s back to the boat where we soak in some sunshine as we float the final flat above our second class IV, Ti’Lomikh Falls (formerly known as Powerhouse Falls). At Ti'Lomikh Falls the team will navigate some rocks and drop over a bouncy ledge into the top pool before making a turn and dropping over the bottom 8-10 foot pour-over into the bottom pool. After Ti'Lomikh Falls you're sure to have a smile on your face as we float to the boat ramp, vans, and the end of your Rogue River rafting trip.

Our 1/2 Day PM Rogue River Hellgate rafting trip is an ideal way to enjoy the beautiful Southern Oregon sun in the summer time. Hot weather, plenty of whitewater, lots of swimming, and a riverside lunch make this a perfect family afternoon adventure.

Meet at our store in Merlin Oregon 11:15 AM. At our store you will meet your guides and get fitted for your gear before having the chance to buy any last minute items like sunscreen or straps for your sunglasses. When everyone is prepared for the adventure we have about a 15 minute van ride to the river.
When the group arrives at the put-in you can take a few minutes to get your sunscreen loaded on while the guides get all of the boats ready to go. When the boats are ready the head guide will do a quick but thorough orientation on the type of boat you will be going down the river in (Orange Torpedo Kayak, Paddle Raft, or Oared Raft). When everyone is geared up it’s time to load in and start rafting the Rogue River.
The trip starts off with two small rapids to begin getting your feet wet before a pristine pool perfect for swimming.  About 40 minutes into the float your head guide will find a nice riverside spot to take a break and grab lunch. The guides will prepare whatever the days meal will include while you relax in the sun or take a quick swim. Generally some fresh fruit, makings for a sandwich and or salad, and a tasty desert item are on the menu. After lunch and a little relaxing its back to the rafts and kayaks for some more Rogue River whitewater. In the afternoon you can look forward to numerous rapids including chair riffle, the extremely fun and long wave train of Alameda, and the always exciting whitewater climax at Argo rapid.  The group will float into Grave Creek boat ramp around 4:00 PM where the vans will be waiting to take everyone back to our store in Merlin.
