THIS ACTIVITY DEPARTS FROM BAKER CITY, OR

Hike to views of 7 Eastern Oregon alpine lakes, dip your feet in crystal clear water, and eat lunch among the wildflowers on this guided hike. Choose the gourmet option to dine on locally-sourced gourmet hiking grub and enjoy chilled artisanal wine. Knowledgeable guides pack your all of your supplies and provide light historical and ecological interpretation.

Your adventure begins at 8AM with complimentary pick-up from your Baker City hotel. Show up early to grab a window seat in the wilderness van and pour yourself a local cup of joe for the ride. The 45 minute drive to the Anthony Lakes trailhead takes you through century farms and the same valley that enticed so many settlers on the Oregon Trail.

At the trailhead, your guide will lead a short safety briefing. You’ll have time to fill your water bottles and grab any last minute supplies from the van. Don’t forget your hiking boots or sturdy shoes!

The eight-mile hike covers 1300ft of gradual elevation gain in a leisurely 4-5 hours (alternative options exist for a variety of intensity levels). Take frequent breaks to refuel on snacks and water and enjoy ecological interpretation from your guide. Lunch is a chance to sit down, take in grand sweeping views and, with the gourmet option, dine on locally-sourced salads, chef-baked sourdough, and a charcuterie plate of gourmet hiking grub. On the hike, expect to see wild flora and fauna in their native state, epic vistas, and 7 shimmering bodies of water.

Back at the trailhead, enjoy a chilled glass of local artisanal wine and another special scrumptious surprise. Take your boots off, high five your guide, and relax on the drive off the mountain, direct to your hotel door.

THIS ACTIVITY DEPARTS FROM BAKER CITY, OR

Learn a great American past time on the pristine lakes and rivers of Eastern Oregon. After a short lesson on land, your guides will provide you with all the necessary gear and guidance to catch the classic fly-fishing prize- beautiful alpine trout. On the full day tour, enjoy extra time to explore multiple lakes and finish the day with an authentic fish fry.

Meet your guides outside your Baker City hotel at 8AM for complimentary pick-up. Get there 10 minutes early to grab a window seat and pour yourself a cup of local joe. On the 45 minute drive to Anthony Lakes, you’ll drive through the valley that enticed so many settlers from the Oregon Trail and pass 7 generation farms.

A quick stop at the base of the ski-hill teaches you the basics of casting and covers general safety protocol for float tube fishing. Listen carefully, your next stop is the open water! The first fishing destination of the day (the only stop on the half day tour) is a picturesque lake, so quiet you can hear every fish jump. With the help of your guide, don fishing waders, grab your pole, and claim your craft. Once in the water, you’ll have a chance for a final tutorial before you’re set free to enjoy the lake and all its bounty. Your guide will circulate to answer any questions and provide helpful hints to those who want them.

The half day tour ends there but for those who want to try their hand at bigger fish and a cast iron cook out, the fun is far from over. On the full-day tour, you visit an additional high-mountain lake stocked with monster rainbow trout. Finish off your adventure by learning how to prepare and cook a fish outdoors. Feast on your catch as well as an assortment of other regionally sourced flavors, and wash it all down with a local craft brew or bottle of wine.
