Knowledgeable guides pack your all of your supplies and provide light historical and ecological interpretation.

Your adventure begins at 8AM with complimentary pick-up from your Baker City hotel. Show up early to grab a window seat in the wilderness van and pour yourself a local cup of joe for the ride. Learn a great American past time on the pristine lakes and rivers of Eastern Oregon. After a short lesson on land, your guides will provide you with all the necessary gear and guidance to catch the classic fly-fishing prize- beautiful alpine trout. On the full day tour, enjoy extra time to explore multiple lakes and finish the day with an authentic fish fry.

Meet your guides outside your Baker City hotel at 8AM for complimentary pick-up. Get there 10 minutes early to grab a window seat and pour yourself a cup of local joe. On the 45 minute drive to Anthony Lakes, you’ll drive through the valley that enticed so many settlers from the Oregon Trail and pass 7 generation farms.

A quick stop at the base of the ski-hill teaches you the basics of casting and covers general safety protocol for float tube fishing. Listen carefully, your next stop is the open water! The first fishing destination of the day (the only stop on the half day tour) is a picturesque lake, so quiet you can hear every fish jump. With the help of your guide, don fishing waders, grab your pole, and claim your craft. Once in the water, you’ll have a chance for a final tutorial before you’re set free to enjoy the lake and all its bounty. Your guide will circulate to answer any questions and provide helpful hints to those who want them.

The half day tour ends there but for those who want to try their hand at bigger fish and a cast iron cook out, the fun is far from over. On the full-day tour, you visit an additional high-mountain lake stocked with monster rainbow trout. Finish off your adventure by learning how to prepare and cook a fish outdoors. Feast on your catch as well as an assortment of other regionally sourced flavors, and wash it all down with a local craft brew or bottle of wine.

Meet local artisans, sample local brews, and drive around beautiful Eastern Oregon on this guided half day craft-focused tour. You’ll visit and talk to the minds behind a local brewery, winery, distillery, malt shop, and chocolatier. At each stop you'll have access to exclusive deals. This tour involves a short walking portion in downtown Baker City and light historic interpretation.

Meet your guide at 1PM for complimentary pick-up at your Baker City hotel. Hop on board the tour van and receive your customized paper itinerary featuring brief explanations of the stops, the deals at each location, and a space for tasting notes.

Your first stop is Eastern Oregon’s only winery. Located in the high desert, you’ll cross the Oregon Trail and drive by expansive century farms and ranches. After hearing the winemakers unique small-town story, and sampling wine in the homemade tasting room, you just might have enough time to take a private tour of the family’s vineyard.

Next, it’s back to Baker City for a quick stop to explore the agricultural side of beer brewing. Tour the small factory of an artisanal manufacturer of malted barley. Taste the grain and remember what you learn because later in the tour you’ll sample the intoxicating end product at Baker City’s premier brewery.

Bring comfortable shoes for the following walking portion of the tour as you head to historic main street. Enjoy some light historical interpretation during your stroll down Main to a distillery, brewery, and, time allowing, a chocolatier. Your guide will hand it over to the pros as they lead you through guided tastings and private tours of the facilities not usually open to the public. You’ll end your day at the brewery, just in time for happy hour. Alternatively, jump back in the van for a complimentary drop off at your hotel.

Take a step back in history to learn the art of cast iron cooking. Apply your new skills to create a pioneer-inspired modern meal at Eastern Oregon's only winery on the Oregon Trail. On this 4 hour tour you learn how cast iron cookware is used, how it's maintained, and what makes it such great cookware for the outdoors. Choose from lunch or dinner options and finish with a fine meal paired with local wine.

Meet your guide and chef at 11AM (lunch option) or 4PM (dinner option) for complimentary pick-up at your Baker City hotel. Hop on board the tour van to travel along the Oregon Trail to Eastern Oregon's only winery where you'll delve deep into the American tradition of cast iron cooking.

Start with a behind-the-scenes tour of the countryside winery. After a free wine tasting, meet back up with the chef for a basic lesson on the history of cast iron cookware, how it is used, maintained, and why it's such a good option for outdoor cooking. Dinner starts with building the perfect open pit fire to sustain your meal and preparing locally sourced vegetables and proteins. Each person (or team depending on group size) will help make a pioneer-inspired dish to complete dinner. The chef will be helping you along the way but be prepared to get creative. For an added twist, the chef might throw in a secret ingredient for his sous chefs to figure out how to incorporate into dinner.

After the bread has risen, the veggies have seared, and the protein has cooked through, sit back and enjoy your hard work to the same view that has awed people living in the Baker Valley for centuries. Share a bottle of your favorite wine, reminisce about yesteryear, and enjoy complimentary drop-off at your hotel.
